Halloween: Approacheth!

When reaching a certain age in life, days tend to go by a lot faster than usual. There are many reasons for this occurrence. One of them being that you’re playing too many damn video games (With me playing too much Gears of War 2. I know, I’m behind in the most recent gaming technology, but that’s what was in the GameFly queue.). Once your eye starts to twitch from your day’s worth of gaming, you wonder where all the time went. Oh, yeah. That time was invested into receiving XBox achievements by shooting a certain number of enemies with a certain kind of rifle. Pretty sweet, huh? No. It’s not. And if you do think that’s sweet, then I hope you realize that it is Microsoft that has set your goals in life. And the goals for you are those XBox achievements. “Achievement” is a pretty powerful word to use for the goals people complete in those games. “Acquirement” seems like the better term. It’s really just something you’ve gotten for pissing your day away. But, if the word “Achievement” helps boost gamers’ self-esteem, then more power to it! Anyhow, I digress.

A more realistic vision of death is also a reason for our days to start to blur together. One starts to compare their lives and they see all of the accomplishments that other people are “achieving” earlier and earlier, and this observation helps the fear of death bear its way into the soul, for death really is nothing more than ceasing the ability to accomplish anything in this waking life. And in that regard, the fear of it is pretty common amongst everyone. So, by constantly sitting in a corner pissing oneself, worrying how and when death will rattle the front door knob and whether or not anything in life has been accomplished at all (I.E. What I do on a daily basis), each day becomes a carbon-copy of the last one, with the concept of living according to a time frame fading rapidly.

But with all this discussing of fear, death and time passing to quickly, what I’m really trying to say is…HALLOWEEN’S ALMOST HERE?!?!?

I don’t have a costume ready! I’ve lost my Bubblin’ Witches’ Brew Punch recipe! My boyfriend’s dumped me for some girl that will have the costume of Snow White and he’ll be Prince Charming, leaving me dateless for the town’s annual Fall Ball/Halloween Bash! (All of these worrisome outbursts provided by The Cliche Film Quote Generator Version 2.0 ©. The only thing you need to do is give it a genre, point-in-storyline, and season. My genre: Tween-Romantic Comedy. My point-in-storyline: End of Exposition. My season: Fall. The Cliche Film Quote Generator Version 2.0 © did the rest of the work.)

But, honestly, I have no costume. Ideas are in the works, but I just can’t seem to commit to anything just yet. The costume must be a character of some kind that has facial hair.

Possibilities:

[1] Daniel Plainview (My friend has agreed to go as H.W. if this one is selected. My friend is tiny and Mexican.)

Possibly Me and My Tiny Mexican Cohort

Possibly Me and My Tiny Mexican Cohort

[2] Chong (The same friend has agreed to be Cheech if this one is selected. My friend is tiny and Mexican.)

Possibly Me and My Tiny Mexican Cohort

[3] Gay Satan

If only I could look THAT gay.

If only I could look THAT gay.

[4] Douchebag

I think these guys are too serious about looking like turds.

[5] Tom Selleck Dressed as Magnum P.I. (There’s a difference. Trust Me. Magnum’s more of an asshole than Tom Selleck.)

Screw costumes. This is just the way to dress.

Screw costumes. This is just the way to dress.

If any other costume ideas drill their way through your skull and into your bulging brain mass, let me know. I can have them extracted for you. Don’t think too hard. Because my doctor told me my last thought could cause a brain hemorr…*SMASH!*
